"Verdant" - 145 × 145 cm / 57.1 × 57.1 in
“Seek out a tree and let it teach you stillness.” — Eckhart Tolle
Some colours don’t ask for permission.
Verdant is painted entirely in green — not by accident, and not for decoration. Green sits at the exact centre of the visible spectrum: the point of balance between warm and cold, between earth and sky. In the traditions of yoga and energy work, it is the colour of the heart chakra — the centre that governs compassion, love, and the bridge between the physical and the spiritual.
This painting is a reminder. Of that bridge. Of grounding. Of the breath that moves through the heart — in, and out, and in again.
Branches, leaves, and roses all in the same family of colour — pale green, deep olive, acid yellow-green — as if everything in this world has agreed, just for this moment, to speak the same language. Light breaks through in several places, not because it was planned, but because even the densest green needs somewhere to breathe.
Painted with a palette knife and brush on natural linen. The roses shaped with a small fruit knife from a wedding silverware set.
Not a painting about nature. A painting about the heart.
