Flower Bomb - 120 × 160 × 4 cm / 47.2 × 63 × 1.6 in
Eckhart Tolle writes: "Surrender is the simple but profound wisdom of yielding to rather than opposing the flow of life." Before starting this canvas, my mind offered up the same palette again — teal, pink, green, red. The one I’ve painted in for months now, again and again, even after trying other colours in between.
I tried to talk myself out of it. Enough work already existed in these tones — different sizes, different compositions. Surely this time something new wanted to happen. But the mind didn’t let go of this combination. So I decided not to resist it, and instead follow this inner state — the way Tolle teaches: not to fight what is, but to let it simply be.
There’s something in the word ex‑istence itself — at its root, it means to stand out from, to emerge. Some forms don’t ask permission for that. They break out of stillness into being, fully formed, unwilling to arrive quietly.
Teal fog covers most of the linen in this canvas — the kind of colour that shifts with the light in the room. Branches drift through it, carrying small red buds. Then, in two corners, the palette knife stops drifting and starts building — white and gold and near-black red, layered so densely the roses hold their own shadows, heavier than anything else on the surface
This isn’t a painting about restraint. It’s about what happens when you finally let something out exactly as it insisted on being — loudly, without apology.
