Still August - 100 × 120 x 4 cm / 39.4 × 47.2 x 1,6 in
Some summers refuse to end on schedule.
Walking through the forest park near home in early August, thirty-something degrees still pressing down on the air, the light already carries something autumn hasn't announced yet — patches of gold where green used to hold on longer, heat that feels borrowed rather than owned.
This painting moves through that same ochre, that same relentless warmth. Branches cross the canvas the way paths cross a forest — some leading toward brightness, others already dimming into shadow and rust. Small bursts of white, green, coral catch the eye like the last insistent color before a season lets go, painted in air still thick with an unusually long summer heat.
There is no single moment being captured here, but a threshold: the exact, unnamed point where one thing is still becoming another, where the body still feels July but the eye has already started noticing September.
A few petals still hold onto turquoise — the color her hand keeps returning to, out of habit, out of love, even here, even now. Not a mistake. A quiet loyalty the heat couldn't quite talk her out of.
To stand in front of this work is to feel the heat of this summer — still scorching, still refusing to leave, even as it borrows autumn's colors to say goodbye.
