Shade and Breeze II - 60 × 60 × 2 cm / 23.6 × 23.6 × 0.8 in
This one is the second in the Shade and Breeze series, and it's about that moment in a garden when your eye doesn't know where to look first — and that's exactly the point.
The dark, almost black flowers with their gold centers stay half in shadow, while the pale hydrangea and the scattered blue flowers catch the light a little differently, in other parts of the canvas. I made the turquoise background uneven on purpose — brighter in some places, more grey-green in others, the way shade in a garden never quite stays still.
Shade and Breeze II isn't about one flower demanding your attention first. It's about how attention wanders on its own, unhurried, from one quiet spot to the next.
