Shade and Breeze I - 60 × 60 × 2 cm / 23.6 × 23.6 × 0.8 in
This is the third and final piece in the Shade and Breeze triptych, and I let it sit a little darker and lower than the other two — it felt right for it to hold more weight, the way the deepest shade in a garden always sits closest to the ground.
The dark violet-black flowers cluster together here more than in the other panels, and the sky-blue hydrangea gathers low in the corner, catching whatever light makes it that far down. One long branch of rosebuds and small blue petals crosses the whole canvas, unhurried, the way a single thought sometimes wanders through a quiet afternoon without needing to arrive anywhere.
The three panels don't tell the same story twice. They just breathe the same air, each in its own way.
